Harsh sulfates like SLS and SLES are known to strip natural oils from the hair and scalp, potentially leading to dryness and irritation. For some, the ingredients can also cause dullness or increase frizz, ultimately leaving the hair more fragile and brittle. These risks are the reasons why we’ve chosen to make our products sulfate-free and instead infuse our shampoos with gentle, natural washing actives that won’t disturb the hair and scalp’s natural environment. 

How can silicones affect hair and scalp? 

Silicones can make hair appear smooth and shiny by coating the strands, but they may also build up over time, weighing hair down and making it feel greasy. Additionally, this build-up can serve as a ‘shield’, preventing other nourishing ingredients from penetrating the hair strands. This build-up can be difficult to remove without clarifying shampoos, potentially leading to dullness and reduced moisture retention. Due to these serious potential side effects, each product from the woods_ hair care collection is free from silicones. Instead, our ingredients are derived from Nordic nature, infusing the formulas with the wonderful properties of wildcrafted berries, plants, and more. 

What are the key ingredients of woods_ Nourishing Hair Care Kit? 

Our Nourishing Shampoo gently cleanses hair and scalp with plant-based, SLS/SLES-free washing actives, leaving a soft and hydrated result. It’s additionally enriched with plant-based proteins and a blend of rosehip, cloudberry, and blueberry oil to strengthen hair and infuse moisture.  

Our Nourishing Conditioner repairs and renews dry and damaged hair thanks to the addition of shea butter, plant-based proteins, and wildcrafted berries like cloudberry and blueberry. These ingredients strengthen, moisturize, and protect hair while enhancing elasticity and binding moisture.  

What are the key ingredients of woods_ Volumizing Hair Care Kit? 

Our Volumizing Shampoo contains natural ingredients like amaranth extract, rosemary oil, macadamia seed oil, and plant-based proteins to enhance hair fullness and texture. The formula includes 100% naturally derived washing actives and antioxidant-rich oils from cloudberry, blueberry, and rosehip, adding more body to each strand and leaving hair softer and visibly healthier. 

Our Volumizing Conditioner is formulated with shea butter and plant-based proteins to enhance and improve hair thickness. Infused with amaranth extract and the same enriching ingredients, rosemary, blueberry, and rosehip oils, the ingredient complex leaves hair vital, bouncier, and more voluminous.   

Which brush should I pair with my hair care? 

For fine and normal hair, we recommend our Volumizing Brush, which is created with a unique blend of soft bristles. 

For thick and curly hair, we recommend our Detangling Brush, which is created with a mix of bristles that brush effectively through coarse hair.  

Both brushes stimulate hair growth and set the foundation for healthy follicles by encouraging blood flow within the scalp while offering tailored care for the hair strands.

None of woods_’ products contain sulfates (SLS/SLES) – including our hair care line. To effectively and gently cleanse hair and scalp, we’ve enriched our shampoos with 100% natural cleansing actives that won’t disturb its natural environment, ensuring you won’t ever have to worry about dryness.

All our hair care products are completely free from silicone. Instead, our products contain naturally moisturizing and strengthening ingredients that work to leave hair softer, healthier, and more manageable.
